Reception at Phillip Ramey's New York Penthouse on September 21, 1995
On this rare and final visit to New York in September 1995, Paul Bowles was able to see some of his friends including Claude Nathalie Thomas from Paris, his preferred French translator, Rodrigo Rey Rosa from Guatemala, his literary heir, the writer Gavin Lambert from Hollywood, California, who had lived in Tangier for 15 years, Joseph A. McPhillips III, the executor of his estate, composer and writer Ned Rorem, composer John Corigliano and pianist Gustavo Romero. Ira Cohen's son Raphael Aladdin Cohen was also present, as was Allen Hibbard. |
